We are seeking candidates who are comfortable treating one-on-one in a private room setting and prescribing active exercise plans in our open functional gym setting.

You are able to work and learn collaboratively with multi-disciplinary practitioners, willing to give back to grass-roots charity events, and have a passion for sharpening and expanding your education.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in manual and sports/orthopaedic therapy and possess additional skillsets in, IMS/FDN or acupuncture, concussion/vestibular therapy, pelvic floor therapy and/or hand therapy.

Forge Health is seeking a Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our integrated team of physiotherapists, naturopathic doctors, registered massage therapists, kinesiologists and acupuncturists in our boutique clinic in North Burnaby.
 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work and assist our clients who value improving their own mental health, who are enrolled in our concussion program and those in our ICBC recovery program.

The ideal candidate will have 12 months experience with a focus in working with those who have suffered from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, post concussion syndrome and chronic pain.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
  • Masters in psychology, psychiatry, social work, or clinical or counselling psychology
  • 1 year experience
  • In good standing possessing professional registration with your applicable college or association
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide clients with one-on-one assessment and counselling, consultation and psychological educational services, in person or virtually.
  • Able to work effectively independently and as a member of an integrated team
  • Active participation in regular team conferences involving client and members of the interdisciplinary teams
  • Communicate effectively with staff members, clients, referral sources, family members and other team members
  • Psychological case management input and direction to the therapy teams pertaining to initial assessment, treatment planning, clients’ progress, conflict resolution, problem solving, and discharge planning
  • Quality communication and reporting skills to include excellent verbal, written, and active listening skills and to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences
