Healing is an ever-evolving process that helps us reach wellness by discovering our whole selves and making space for the physical, mental and emotional parts of us that we have deemed broken and defective.  But you don’t have to be alone in that journey.

We approach counselling from a holistic perspective, recognizing the inseparable connection between the mind and body and that true healing naturally takes place when they work in tandem.

MIND-BODY FOCUS

Our therapeutic model aligns with the philosophy that lasting and impactful  change happens as we start to become aware of our thoughts, feelings and bodies. We address the relationships between these systems through somatic healing practices, expressive arts and movement.

TRAUMA-INFORMED

Past and presently-lived experiences are imprinted in our nervous systems, neural pathways and bodies in profound ways that affect how we experience ourselves and our reality. We integrate the knowledge of complex trauma impact into every aspect of treatment and make your emotional and psychological safety our priority while avoiding re-traumatization. 

EVIDENCE-BASED

Continuous education allows us to examine the relevance of current research and proven clinical expertise to your individual needs. We participate in ongoing training and actively learn from our clients so that we can progress and evolve into better counsellors to support you.

PATIENT-CENTRED

One of our main therapeutic goals is to help you view yourself with compassion rather than judgment. Feelings of being safe, being in control and being witnessed without judgement or expectation is fundamental to healing and our sessions will design a therapeutic space where you can see yourself reflected.

taking the first step

Leading up to a first visit, a person may go through a rainbow of emotions. But many also experience a great relief afterwards.  You may not be able to articulate your feelings, have your thoughts in order or have a coherent story – this is completely okay. Come as you are and we will meet you where you are, with compassion and free from any judgement.

 

Our counsellor will gently guide you through your first session and will begin to figure out what therapeutic modals will resonate best with you. Together you will co-create a path to forward.

We understand the decision to start counselling, let alone finding a counsellor may feel daunting. That is why we offer a  COMPLIMENTARY 15-MINUTE VIRTUAL OR PHONE CONSULTATION  with our counsellors to give you an opportunity to see if it’s a good fit for you.
